“So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today —to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul—  then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil.”

Deuteronomy 11:13-14

Based on this verse, I would like to highlight some elements that I consider have been key throughout this year with regard to the Annual Report. As a community, we have seen God’s faithful hand throughout this very challenging and different year. Despite the difficulties, we are first-hand witnesses of the Lord’s provision (“rain” from the text above), even when there seemed little hope.

Mission in the University did not stop. In fact, it gained more strength in some ways. We have seen more opportunities to connect with others and there have been new ways and spaces to share the gospel. The Lord has not stopped supporting the service efforts and initiatives that have allowed us to bring hope as a community. Also, our exploration of Deuteronomy comforted us and brought a new perspective: a constant exercise of remembering, loving, hearing, and choosing. Our hearts have been transformed.

With this, we thank all who have been present in one way or another through donations, prayers, and service supporting CECE’s mission. We encourage you to stay involved and connected with everything that the Lord will allow us to do through His work next year, 2021.

Blessings,
